Study in Italy – The 2022 Cattolica Africa Scholarships Program aims to provide African students the opportunity to undertake full-time master’s degrees in Italy, by awarding a total of 100 scholarships across various Italian universities, colleges and schools between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023.
What is the scholarship?
The Faculty of Law, Political Science and Economics at Cattolica offers a scholarship program with a focus on four main priorities: Training leaders; providing expertise to business enterprises; fostering solidarity and international cooperation; creating public policies. African Master students can now apply for one of these scholarships from September 2019 to December 2020.
The programme is intended to be an international experience that will contribute towards building leadership, becoming a resourceful individual as well as future professionals through teaching and research. Up to ten students will be chosen among eligible applicants, who must have an excellent academic record (upper second class or better), good social skills and a clean criminal record. It is also necessary that they are good English speakers, having attended university study programmes taught in English.

Who qualifies as an applicant?
The Cattolica program is looking for students who are currently enrolled in an academic master’s program and are planning to study abroad at a Catholic University or affiliated institution. They should be able to commit to doing their coursework full-time (40 hours per week) during their stay abroad, and have attained at least a first-class honours degree from an accredited university in their home country.
They must also meet all requirements stipulated by their sponsoring institution, as well as all other standard admission procedures. Applicants cannot already hold a bachelor’s degree from an Italian institution of higher education. The selection process will be based on applicants’ academic records, a short motivational essay, and letters of recommendation.
How can you apply?
Study and live like an Italian. The Cattolica Africa Scholarship Programme offers ten years of financial support to selected students from Sub-Saharan Africa who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, including tuition fees, monthly allowance and return airfare.
Eligible applicants must hold a first-level university degree (Bachelor) and can also be currently enrolled on their Master’s program or have recently completed it. Financial support will be provided for up to two years during which time you will have access to an internationally recognized Master’s Degree Course taught entirely in English.

Important information
There are 2 scholarships, each to be awarded to an exceptionally talented and promising young man or woman with a strong commitment to Christian values, currently pursuing postgraduate studies at a university within one of these countries: Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa.
Conclusion
The application period will open on March 1st and run through May 31st. This program is open to all masters students who are citizens of a country within Africa. They must have graduated from a recognized university or college and must have been accepted into an accredited school of higher education within Europe with no less than 2 years of study remaining. The students may apply to any institution that is accepted by both themselves and their home country. However, schools located in either Italy or France are preferred, with more preference given to schools located in Italy.
