The Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) provides talented and motivated  African students with the exceptional chance to support capacity building in Africa while pursuing a master’s degree at Wageningen University. The Wageningen Research Foundation and Wageningen University have joined forces to form Wageningen University & Research.

You may be eligible for an invitation to the Africa Scholarship Program selection process if you submit your application for an MSc program before the deadline. This is so since invitations are the basis for the scholarship selection process.

The benefits of the Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) Include the following:

  • The recipient’s travel cost to and from The Netherlands will be covered
  • Provision of Living allowance for the duration of the program (24 months)
  • Full tuition fee coverage for the duration of the program (24 months)
  • Visa costs coverage and costs for health insurance
  • Additionally, a budget for one seminar in Europe covers the cost of travel, stay, and registration fees.

Requirements

The eligibility requirements for the Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) are as follows:

  • You’re expected to be a citizen of an African country to be considered
  • Candidates must have already applied for one of the master’s programs of Wageningen University & Research before the given deadline.
  • Must have been given unconditional admission to this MSc programme.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an excellent and proven top 5%, with a First class honors degree and a GPA of 80% or higher in a Bachelor’s degree.

Step 3: Assessment of all submitted documents

Selection Procedure

This scholarship’s selection process is invitation-only. It is not feasible to apply online. The selection process is:

  • Application request: All students who have been accepted without condition into Wageningen University’s MSc program will have their eligibility for the Africa Scholarship Program evaluated in March 2024.
  • The assignment: The chosen applicants will be asked to complete an assignment, the due date of which is April 4, 2024.
  • Online interview: A smaller group of candidates will be called for an online interview with a member of the selection committee following a comprehensive evaluation of all assignments received.

Timeline:

  • April 17, 2024: Notification of successful candidates for online interview
  • Interviews scheduled: April 23, 2024, and May 3, 2024.
  • Application Deadline: February 1, 2024
  • Program start date for MSc: September 1, 20.
